So, we were going to go to bed, we were, and then we stumbled across some pics from "The Town" premiere and found some fashion seriously worth noting. Let's take a look shall we?
The Red and the Black.
Jennifer Garner, who very rarely disappoints, is, we hate to say it, a little underwhelming. The dress is unique and beautiful. The sheer lace detail in the center, we like. We also like the v-shape that detail forms as it is quite flattering and her hair and make up are gorge.
Unfortunately for Jen, a couple of other ladies really outshone her. In Jen's defense, however, she was only there to support her husband, Ben Affleck, who directed and starred in the film. As such, her dress is actually very appropriate. B+.
Blake Lively, who has had problems looking like a call girl in the past, looks sexy, elegant and vibrant in red and has refrained from revealing her navel with the v-neck of her gown. We love her dress in every way, the sparkles, the detailing at the hip, the neckline. And red is so Miss Lively's color. A.
Rebecca Hall was also in red. In fact, she completely rocked the premiere in a red and black jumpsuit. We love her sleek and straight hair with this look, which mimics the long lines of the pants. Very chic and very now. A-.
But ladies, Blake Lively wins this war. She looks so amazing, she made us post way past our bedtime (especially when we have to wake up early tomorrow!).
Shiny and Drab?
Also inspiring us tonight were these two ladies. Rachelle LeFevre is wearing a patchwork quilt of shiny, yet somehow drab, materials. The shoes are heinous. The colors completely clash with her hair color. The look is ALL wrong. F. Actress Whitney Able, on the other hand, is wearing quite a beautiful color, with its own healthy dose of shine, with...opaque black tights and black heels. Gasp. Black opaque tights are ok to wear with a skirt suit in the dead of winter because you know that otherwise, you'll be wearing flannel trousers to work everyday. But on the red carpet, in the beginning of September, it makes zero fashion sense and dowdifies this look completely. We think she may be going for edgy, but it just makes me think she's hiding her legs because she didn't feel like shaving. C.
And the men weren't able to stay away from the shiny, either, it seems. Actor Jeremy Renner, ladies and gentlemen.
That is one shiny suit, Mr. Renner.C-.
It's been a good fashion week for Blake Lively. Did you see her yellow and navy strapless Marchesa dress? I love it. Blake Lively is quickly becoming one of my favorites and not just because her show is a huge guilty pleasure of mine.

Rachel, Thanks for the link. I did not see it, but very, very cute! She's such a knockout,it's really hard for her to look bad really.
ReplyDelete@Rachel. It is not the best dress that I have seen her in. But I agree with both of you, she is a great dresser.
