5. Die Hard. This may seem to be a strange choice, but the truth is, other than Working Girl, we can't think of another film that so beautifully displays 80s power suits. Plus, Bruce Willis looks super hot in a wife beater.
4. Christmas in Connecticut. This 1945 classic, starring Barbara Stanwyck, displays the confident female styles of the day in its strong female lead. if you've never seen this movie, rent it. You'll love it.
3. Holiday Inn. True, this movie has some questionable scenes, but it's still considered a classic Yuletide film. And if you can try to ignore these certain outdated scenes (or fast forward them at least), you will be in for a delight as Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers and Bing Crosby dance and sing and look great doing it.
2. It's a Wonderful Life. What we love is not only the way we cry every time we see George Bailey question his existence, but how adorably feminine Donna Reed looks. Oh. And Jimmy Stewart is too cute in his football sweater, too.
1. White Christmas. This is our most favorite Christmas ever and the fashion is fantastic. The classic starring Bing Crosby, Rosemary Clooney, Danny Kaye and Vera Ellen, includes plenty of dance numbers, which means lots of fun costume changes. Plus, our leads also look pretty good in their everyday wear, too. We love the number of Barbie dresses Rosemary Clooney wears and never have Santa and Mrs. Claus looked so fifties chic.
Happy Holidays gentle readers!
Great call on Die Hard. Unconventional, but it works. I've never actually seen Christmas in Connecticut. I will have to pick it up before Christmas.
