Tonight's episode begins with Golnessa talking about stepping up her game. In fact, many of the remaining designers are concerned about showing the judges what they've got.
1. The Challenge. Soon thereafter, Iman sends word to the remaining contestants to meet her at the Museum of Natural History. Once the designers arrive, they see nine metal boxes surrounding a fortune cookie shaped fountain. Iman informs them that in the middle of the fountain is a time capsule, which will be opened in 1000 years. Similarly, in each of the nine metal boxes surrounding the fortune cookie is a time capsule for a different year. Each designer will choose a different box and his or her look must then be inspired by the year of the time capsule he or she chooses. However, all looks must still fit together as a collection.
For Team Emerald, Golnessa must design for 1951, Jeffrey for 1989, Cesar for 2001, and Cindy for 1965. For Team Nami, Eduardo must design for 1976, Calvin for 1957, Dominique for 1994, Rolando for 1969, and David for 1982. Once everyone has their design year, Iman informs the designers that they must also use plaid in their designs. Moaning and groaning ensues as most designers can't imagine having to work with plaid.

Winona Ryder is the Man in Black
Wow. Winnie must have read our blog about how she's always wearing black poofy dresses. Ms. Ryder, we now apologize to you as we would never, never want to encourage any person to wear this suit. Ever. In a million years. Unless, of course, you're impersonating Johnny Cash. Then, we say go for it.
There is so very much wrong with the look, dear hearts, that it's really hard to know where to begin, but let's just say, we're not big fans of the chunky pendant that seems to be doubling as a bolo tie. Indeed, the fact that Winnie has buttoned her shirt up all the way completes this image. Further, we hate the cut of this jacket, which is not feminine at all, is too long and makes Ms. Ryder's legs look way shorter than they actually are. Just awful.
Again, unless you've shot a man in Reno just to watch him die, please ignore our last post Winnie and bring back the black poofy dress. Please?

Winona Ryder and the Black Poofy Dress
Winona Ryder has been perpetually stuck in a poofy, black dress for months now, and for the life of us, we can't figure out why as the look has been mostly unsuccessful on her.
As you may recall, on September 13, Winnie made her way onto the red carpet in an ill-fitting bodice where the girls made every attempt to escape their corseted cage. Not a good look.
As you can see on the right, however, by November 11, WR had managed to clean her look up quite a bit. Plus, the added length in the skirt slimmed her down, too, and we began to believe in Wynona's ability to rock a black, poofy dress, until...

Leighton Meester in Menswear
What do we think dear hearts? Is Leighton pulling this off or not?
We're not actually sure, ourselves. We kinda like the slightly disheveled, long-day-after-work look she's going for here. On the other hand, maybe we're just glad for change, any change, in her style. So, you must help us, is she in or is she out?
