Michelle Williams in Erdem

Hey! We just saw this dress. Oooh. Looked a lot better on the model at the Erdem show during London Fashion Week. We can't quite put our finger on what the problem is...

Aha! We know what it is. On the model, the dress is shorter, which makes a dress which could look dowdy, a bit fresher. Plus the shorter dress length makes it appear more full, narrowing the waist. If Michelle had just had the dress shortened, then we'd be all for it. As it is, we're thinking it's a bit frumpy, even if it is red lace. And she looks a bit thick waisted. We don't necessarily hate it, we just think it would look better as the designer intended. (Of course, we're almost positive that if we had never seen the model in this dress, which as you know we were quite taken with when we saw it at LFW, we would have loved it immediately on Michelle.)

And we hate, hate, hate, Michelle's white blonde hair.We are undecided on the leopard print shoes. Could be genius, but like we said, we're unsure. What do you think readers? Red hot or Cherry bomb?

Part 2: If We Were Rachel Zoe in London...

And, not surprisingly, London really managed to do lace in a prim and proper, but often unexpected, way.

1. Afternoon Tea. At LFW this year, Christopher Kane showed lacy ladylike looks in neon shades of yellow, pink, orange and green fit for tea with a queen. Below is one of his fashion forward frocks in neon green. We could totally see Gwyneth Paltrow having tea with Madonna (if the two of them ever reconcile, that is) in this getup. Plus, the suit is a little edgy like Ms. Paltrow likes.American actress Gwyneth Paltrow attends The National Movie Awards at Royal Festival Hall in London on May 26, 2010.
