Part 2: If We Were Rachel Zoe in Milan...

Shake it, gentle readers! Another trend we noticed during Milan Fashion Week was a generous use of fringe in quite a few glam looks created by high profile designers for the 2011 spring season.

1. Golden Girl. First, this gorge gilded gown by Versace is sure to see a red carpet during awards season. Not only do we love the fringe, but we totally dig the detailed bodice. We think Demi Moore could look pretty fab in this little number and there is no way Ashton would be hooking up with twenty-one year olds after seeing his sweetie in this gown.Celebrities make their arrivals on the red carpet at the 82nd Annual Academy Awards held at the Kodak Theatre on March 7, 2010 in Hollywood, California. Part 1: If We Were Rachel Zoe in Milan...

And, as Rachel Zoe, stylist to the stars, we have chosen a few looks from a few of the trends we have noticed this year that we think could look quite gorge on many of today's stars. Our first set of looks feature geometric lines and cut outs.

1. Geometric Goddess. The Gianfranco Ferre collection this year included several draped and flowy goddess looks with broad black stripes and/or cut outs. We were huge fans and immediately recognized that these striking silhouettes would photograph very well on many a red carpet.

In particular, we think Cameron Diaz would look molto bello in the goddess gown shown below. First, we cannot recall ever having seen Ms. Diaz in black and white on the red carpet.  Second, that super high and super sexy slit would show off her fabulous legs. And finally, we think black and white is always incredibly striking on the red carpet (e.g., Julia Roberts' famous Valentino gown from the 2001 Oscars).

Wild at the French Vogue Party

At French Vogue's 90th Anniversary Celebration this week, French Vogue Editor-in-Chief, Carine Roitfeld, arrived fashionably late, disguised as Emma Peel at a masquerade ball...on safari. Far be it from us to ever criticize such a fashionista, but still we must admit we do not understand this look at all (even for a masquerade ball). Perhaps Ms. Roitfeld felt the need to dress in head to toe (sheer) leopard print because she was afraid of not standing out enough in a sea of models and designers? Or perhaps we simple mortals will never understand the incredible chicness of someone like Carine Roitfeld.
