Well, recently four of our fave brat packers (Anthony Michael Hall, Molly Ringwald, Ally Sheedy, Judd Nelson) reunited once again for the 25th anniversary of the Breakfast Club and tribute to John Hughes held by the Film Society of Lincoln Center and we were either prepared to see the Brat Pack in their forties or they were looking better than they did earlier this year.
As seen in the photo above, Anthony Michael Hall is looking pretty messy here, but he doesn't look ancient, so that's good at least. Judd Nelson has (thank god) shaved all of the offensive facial hair he had at the Oscars, but has still committed a horrible wrong by wearing that atrocious tie.
Ally Sheedy's ensemble is pretty underwhelming and looks a bit casual for the event, but we think her hair and make up look really great and she looks fresh and pretty. She has aged very well.
Molly Ringwald has actually made an attempt at being fashionable here. And overall, we think she looks pretty great. She has sideswept her very severely cut blunt bangs, which has really softened up her look. We also like her dress, which is flattering and has some interest with the one shoulder. In theory, we think her shoes are perfect. The ankle straps mimic the broad "strap" effect of the dress. On the other hand, we kind of feel like that ankle strap is cutting off the lines of her legs in a bad way.
I totally agree that they look so much better than they did at the Oscars, that was just depressing. I don't know about Molly's attire though. I really can't place it. Good find.
ReplyDeleteConsidering how he looked when he was younger, Anthony Michael Hall does not look that bad.
ReplyDeleteThey really don't look that bad. In fact, I am kind of impressed. That does not change the fact though that this makes me feel old. I wasn't a teen till the early 90's, but somehow I still feel like the Brat pack were members of my generation. Maybe because they shaped my idea of what a teenager is.
