Part 1: If We Were Rachel Zoe in Milan...

And, as Rachel Zoe, stylist to the stars, we have chosen a few looks from a few of the trends we have noticed this year that we think could look quite gorge on many of today's stars. Our first set of looks feature geometric lines and cut outs.

1. Geometric Goddess. The Gianfranco Ferre collection this year included several draped and flowy goddess looks with broad black stripes and/or cut outs. We were huge fans and immediately recognized that these striking silhouettes would photograph very well on many a red carpet.

In particular, we think Cameron Diaz would look molto bello in the goddess gown shown below. First, we cannot recall ever having seen Ms. Diaz in black and white on the red carpet.  Second, that super high and super sexy slit would show off her fabulous legs. And finally, we think black and white is always incredibly striking on the red carpet (e.g., Julia Roberts' famous Valentino gown from the 2001 Oscars).

We also liked this gown, also from the Gianfranco Ferre collection. Although it may not be the most original silhouette in the world, we thought the cutouts, lined by black braided leather, created a nice blend of femininity with a rock n roll edge. We also immediately thought of Jessica Biel for this look, who pretty much looks amazing in everything she wears. The cast of the A Team attends the premiere in Berlin, Germany on July 29, 2010. But what we really, really loved and would kill to have were the many pairs of fantabulous shoes, most with this same zigzag design to the right, in a rainbow of colors. Love, love, love.

We also very much liked the dress below, which we thought had a vague sixties vibe about it, saucied up with cutouts, which we thought would go well with January Jones' style or Carey Mulligan's pixie do.

January or Carey?

  1. I think Fergie's body would be great for the second dress. As for the last one, I would have to definitely say January Jones.

  2. LBD, I think I'm with you on January being the better choice.
