Oh wait. What the hell is that? Wow. We're sorry, this dress is most definitely not boring. It is, however, offensive. If it were just the back that was exposed, we'd be fine with it, but the side exposure is bordering on hookerwear.
OK Gwyneth. We're not sure what is going on with you lately and your need to show skin. All we can figure out is that because you are promoting a country film, you feel that a lack of taste in your red carpet attire is a reflection of your country singer character. That's it, right? Let's hope Gwyn's next role is a British woman in a Victorian drama. A little modesty never hurt anyone.
Meanwhile, Leighton Meester showed up dressed as a fuzzy Betty Page with orange neon heels. In a word, no.
While the stars of the film may have let us down, the writer-director, Shana Feste, seems to have gotten it right. True, her dress has a somewhat shredded quality about it, but we think it's mostly interesting and, more importantly, it's flattering and classic-looking, despite the deconstruction at the top. You look gorgeous, Ms. Feste. It's too bad you didn't have artistic control over your actors' wardrobes for the premiere of your movie.
I know that I am going to be shouted down for saying this, but I actually like that on Gwyneth. She has such an elegant look that it counter balances all of the skin that she is showing.

You are so right. Who would think that the director would be best dressed?
ReplyDeleteI can live with the rest of them but Gwyneth's dress is so awful. It also seems dated. You could tell me that's a picture from the late 90s and I'd believe you.
