Part 2: If We Were Rachel Zoe in London...
And, finally, one of the hottest trends at London Fashion Week was lace. And, not surprisingly, London really managed to do lace in a prim and proper, but often unexpected, way.
1. Afternoon Tea. At LFW this year, Christopher Kane showed lacy ladylike looks in neon shades of yellow, pink, orange and green fit for tea with a queen. Below is one of his fashion forward frocks in neon green. We could totally see Gwyneth Paltrow having tea with Madonna (if the two of them ever reconcile, that is) in this getup. Plus, the suit is a little edgy like Ms. Paltrow likes.
This next look, also by Christopher Kane, we could see on Dianna Agron. We think this could be a nice transition for the Glee star. It's still a little retro like Dianna likes, but we're hoping it could push her towards a more fashion forward place with the neon pink.
2. Everything Is Beautiful at the Ballet. Erdem Moralioglu's collection this year was inspired by the ballet! And the dress below certainly could be a costume from The Red Shoes. We love this dress, not only because we are huge ballet fans (Center Stage was such a good movie), but from a fashion perspective, the color is beautiful and the lines scream elegance. As stylists, we think this dress could look adorable on Carey Mulligan, particularly since we can't recall ever having seen Carey in red as she tends to prefer dark colors. Plus, doesn't every girl need a little red lace in her life (and not just in her lingerie drawer)? And thus wraps up our Rachel Zoe in London segment. Stay tuned for Milan, dear hearts.

When I see the first two outfits, I immediately thought of Nicole Kidman. As for the last dress, this might not be original but I think Hedi.
ReplyDeleteFor me the obvious choice for the first two is Zooey Deschanel. I would love to see Carey Mulligan in the last one. Good eye.
ReplyDeleteI do have to respectfully disagree about Nicole Kidman. I don't think that her color would be right for those colors. I like the Gwyneth and Carrie suggestions. I am a little less sure about Diana.
ReplyDeleteNo, I do think that would work on Nicole Kidman, but overall I am going to have to go with Mrs. Fashonista's picks.
