I felt I was being entirely too earnest with my Bourdain multi-part series, so now for something a little lighter and naughtier (do not distress as we will continue the Bourdain multi-parter tomorrow)! As you may recall, a delightful little film called "About a Boy" was released in theaters about eight years ago. The stars of that film were Hugh Grant and "the boy", played by Nicholas Hoult.
As you can see, Nicholas Hoult, was then only about 12 or 13 years old and was an awkward-looking child with a fictional suicidal mother who wore hideous knitted caps. And, of course, there is the adorable Hugh Grant who was then 42.
Well, let's take a look at our stars now...
Here is Nicholas Hoult at the age of 21. In a word, he is adorable. And his strange looks as a child have turned into serious model-like yummy. Let's just say if I were about 10 years younger, I would wish to be courted by this hottie (Mr. Fashionista is telling me now this is wrong on a number of levels).
A moment of silence please.
Oh Hugh. I know you are now no longer a young man. I do know this. But I still think of you as a 30-something. Mr. Grant, we still love you. And we still wish to see you in more movies (preferably not co-starring Sarah Jessica Parker whom we love as Carrie Bradshaw, but...) where you will still look quite dashing for your age and be the incredible charmer we know you are. Oh, and, hopefully, you have thrown away that horrible pair of khakis from the premiere of About a Boy.
Ciao,
Mrs. Fashionista
