Hello dear hearts,
Guess who's surfing now? It's Sam from True Blood.

No. We're serious. See Sam Surf.

Yep, that's right. Sam Trammell rode the waves today in Malibu for some fabulous celeb event or another
and we must say, was looking pretty adorable while doing it.

Surfing's the source, man. It'll change your life. Mr. F and I are also really, really hoping that Sam's inner soul surfer manages to convince True Blood creator, Alan Ball, to safely return our fave shapeshifter to his sweet and reliable form, rather than the strange violent maniac (with a couple of homicides under his belt) he seems to have become. ***Please note, Alan Ball,  there is such a thing as too much drama. (See Six Feet Under, Season 4 please).

We're also crossing our fingers that Sam may end up actually having a real relationship with Tara. We won't hold our breath on that one though.

Part 2: Road to Sicily with George Clooney & Elisabetta Canalis

Back again so soon, you say? Well, yes, we were too excited not to post about our first celebrity road trip. And where are we going?

As we all know George Clooney is currently dating Elisabetta Canalis, a gorgeous Italian actress, who must be somewhat amazing to have kept George for such a long time, right? And where should these two gorgeous, interesting and charming people take us? Why to Sicily, of course. Clooney and Canalis would love this trip as well as they're probably always at his magnificent villa on Lake Como, which is so very far away from the island of mythical Sicily. Plus, Mr. Fashionista and I will have someone to translate for us. Perfect!



1. Palermo.

George has agreed to pick up the car at the airport and drive us through Palermo. Thank god because we've heard driving in Palermo ages you in two days as badly as the first six months of being President does. First things first guys, let's grab a cappucino. Now caffeinated, George decides to drop Elisabetta and I off at La Viccuria, a souk-style market, while Mr. Fashionista  and he run off to play bocce ball. Elisabetta (she's letting me call her Betty now, by the way) and I have a blast, buying all sorts of tchotchkes for our homes which we will never use (although she seems a bit high maintenance IMHO) and George is so gracious that he lets Mr. Fashionista win bocce ball.

Celebrity Chef Shout Out: Stephanie Izard

Hello dear hearts,

Mr. Fashionista and I recently had the chance to try Top Chef Season 4 Winner Stephanie Izard's new restaurant Girl and the Goat, which specializes in small plates and has a bit of a gastropub vibe to it. In a word, it was delicious.

We were big fans of Ms. Izard's previous restaurant, Scylla, and were rooting for her the whole time on Top Chef. So, congratulations on your new endeavor Steph.

If you happen to make your way to Chicago, be sure to get your reservation and pay for the bread (ours came with raisin walnut butter and carrot oil). It is so worth it. Other highlights included the fennel and blueberry salad, the prawns stuffed with duck and the pig face. The pig face, which I thought was just a cutesy name, was actually an accurate description of what we ate. Never knew pig jowls and chin could be so tasty. Finally, we had a corn nougat dessert that I am still salivating over.

Also, try to score the money table, which basically consists of a couple of bar seats looking directly into the kitchen. We were fortunate enough to be able to sit there and had front row seats to watch Ms. Izard in action. She was there the entire time, overseeing everything, as any good exec chef should be. She was also totally oblivious to my obvious starstruck attitude and attempts to sneak photos of her.

Second Season Premiere: Worst Dressed of the Glee Gang

At the recent Season 2 premiere party of Glee, some our cast members were not as well dressed as we would have hoped. And our worst dressed picks are:

1. Lea Michele. You can try to work that, but...

It looks like you're wearing your grandma's curtains. Not only that, but why you decided to leave the curtain rod in around the hip area is beyond us.

 
Of course,  we've all been concerned with Ms. Michele's diminishing weight, but is this really the way to add the pounds? We think not.

Still, you've gotta admit. The girl can strike a pose.

Second Season Premiere: Best Dressed of the Glee Gang

Hello gentle people,

So, the cast of Glee turned up for their own Season 2 premiere party. Imagine that? As such, they have turned themselves over to the public opinion. And our best dressed picks are:..

1. Jayma Mays. Cute as a button. And kind of saucy, too.

We would love to see Jayma sexing it up a bit more regularly on the red carpet. But we actually think she's achieved a nice mixture of sweet and sexy with this little number. The dress has nice texture. Overall, it screams girl next door, but the short length also suggests little goody two shoes may be up for some fun as well. And the teal is divine with her hair color.

Project Runway: Ivy is the New Gretchen

Hello dear hearts! It's time to recap tonight's episode of Project Runway, otherwise known as "Ivy is the New Gretchen".




1. Final thoughts on Peach:

Tonight's episode began with April lamenting last week's departure of the beloved Peach. April is understandably upset because she lost her roommate and is now forced to move in with the remaining girls, Gretchen, Val and Ivy. As the four ladies leave for the workroom, April quips: "We're the fantastic 4 and you've abducted April."



(FYI Mr. Fashionista informs me that if April knew anything at all, then she'd know the Fantastic 4 were soon to be the Fantastic 3).

2. A Cruise around the Harbor.
Cut to the runway. "Hello." Heidi is wearing blue satin pants with red high heels. We do not approve. She informs the remaining designers that they will be designing resort wear this week. Mike C is pretty sure he has it in the bag because he's from Palm Beach. Mondo says running around in his underwear is his idea of resort wear because he doesn't leave the house. Uh oh. This does not bode well for poor Mondo.

Next up, a cruise around New York Harbor, complete with mimosas, to get some inspiration for their resort wear challenge. We are assuming New York Harbor is pretty toxic, so I can't imagine what kind of inspiration for lounging around on the beach our designers are getting from their cruise past the Statute of Liberty. I suppose, however, that Lifetime didn't feel like coughing up the cash for a quick trip to Miami. Casanova says this challenge is very Michael Kors, which means it is so not his challenge. Again, foreshadowing? April says she's going to do some black "creepy" resortwear. We are intrigued.


After a little sketching on the yacht, the designers are off to Mood. Tim goes around to the designers letting them know it is all about their design aesthetic and keeping true to themselves, which, is, of course, somewhat ironic since we are soon to find out that the designers will not be executing their own designs.
